For family contact over distance, body language, freedom of movement and optimal contact height have great added value. The YoooM standard has been specially designed to do full justice to these aspects. With the addition of body language, family members can undertake typical family activities, such as drinking coffee together, over distance. Freedom of movement is created because the stand stabilizes the tablet and at the same time can be moved easily. This keeps hands free for other activities and it is easy to use the tablet at the location where contact feels good at that moment. An optimal contact height is important to be able to have a good conversation, where non-verbal communication also gets the space. In this way, a grandchild can once again experience the listening ear of grandma and grandpa and share his adventures with them.

How it works

Working with the YoooM standard is easy. It works in two steps: just click a tablet in the standard and start the desired video communication program. The asymmetric lens enlarges the image at the bottom of the screen, adding body language (such as arms and hands) and activities to the contact. The aluminium or plastic frame ensures easy portability and keeps the screen in the correct contact position. As a result, contact over distance feels natural and can be started at any desired location in the house.

What is needed

A suitable tablet and a suitable video communication program are required for use. The tablet is clicked into the stand (when choosing the stand, make sure that it supports your tablet). Then start the desired video communication software. The most commonly used video communication programs such as YoooM, Skype and Facetime work well with the standard. Also old type tablets are supported, so they can get a new life as a family communicator.
